Name-based checks for applicants in Manitoba

If you are in Manitoba and need a criminal record check, you can apply online without visiting an office. Some roles, especially those working with children or vulnerable people, may also require additional screening that is separate from a standard check, so ask the organization exactly what it needs.

Common reasons for a check in Manitoba

• Employment and new-hire screening
• Volunteering with schools, sports clubs and community organizations
• Rental and housing applications that ask for a check
• Licensing and registration applications that name the check they need

Which check should I choose?

The organization asking for your check decides which type it accepts. Order the one it names, a CPIC check or a CRJMC. If it only says “criminal record check”, ask which type it accepts. Compare CPIC and CRJMC.
